Growth rate?
So I got Lizzy just over 2 weeks ago when she was 8 1/2 weeks old. She was sold as a 'local breeder ham' but through a local independent pet shop which she'd been in since she was 6 weeks old.... The day after i got her she was 81g. I've weighed her every other day since. There has been an increase i growth rate from 0.5g/day (for the first 6 days) to 1g/day (5 days) 2g/day (5 days) whilst she's been with me. Now 16 days on she weighs 100g. She's put on 19g in 16 days, with the rate of growth increasing.
My questions are, is that a healthy sounding growth rate do you think? How can you tell if your hammy is putting on muscle and growing or getting chubby?
