Syrians are very territorial so it's highly likely that two syrians together will fight.

Just as Lula has stated syrian hamsters are territorial. Once they reach maturity they would split and go their own ways in the wild. kept together they would likely fight to the death. So housing them in the same cage is not an option.

However if you have two in seperate cages that share the same room in your home that is perfectly fine. Just don't allow them to play together in the open, and be sure you wash your hands in between interacting with both of them

Having two syrians is not a problem as long as they are kept strictly apart. Having a male and female in the same room tends to make the male a bit hyper when the female is in season. The females can be very intend on escaping at that time too You must be very careful they do not get together as you do not want any unplanned babies. You must also be very sure that you have the time to take on the responsibility of another hammie and that you can afford the extra food/bedding/vet bills etc. and of course that your family agrees. Two syrians running on their wheels in your bedroom could be a trifle noisy! Think carefully about it.

Do not take on a second hamster unless you feel you can full care for both hams and give them both the time and attention they deserve. Keeping two hams in the same room won't be a problem, but as souffle said, when the girls are in season, the boys go hyper!

Thats fine aslong as they are not in the same cage As other people have said ask yourself whether you are ready for another hamster.
