Whimzees
Hello everyone.
Because our Syrian was ignoring the wooden chewing toys we bought her a small Whimzees toothbrush. I was looking for something smaller as I thought it would have taken ages to go through it. In less than one week she's eaten half of it.
Question: can it be harmful or do you (those who use it) leave it there constantly? Shall we give her one per week if she goes through it??
Thanks for your advise in advance.

Re: Whimzees
They do often go a bit mad with them when they get their first whimzee! I think one a week may be a bit much but I'm not totally sure about syrians so someone else might have a better idea, she may not chew them so quickly once the novelty wears off but I would have thought one every couple of weeks would be better.

Re: Whimzees
Whimzees do contain sugar and alcohol so in large quantities, they can be harmful but leaving them is fine. I recommend when they finish the chew to leave it a few weeks, not constantly renewing them as that could lead to diabetes and other health problems

Re: Whimzees
I'm not sure if you may be confusing Whimzees with something else SimonandSyril but they don't contain sugar or alcohol & there's no risk of diabetes.

Re: Whimzees
If you get the toothbrush whimzees I sometimes stick pumkin seeds between the bristles - they have a great time getting them out!

Re: Whimzees
Cypher, I have heard they contain glycerin which is a sugar; my mistake they do not contain alcohol I have just heard that I will look more into it next time

Re: Whimzees
Glycerin is a sugar alcohol; it has 4 calories per gram, as much as sucrose, but apparently has a low glycemic index and is reported to not taste very sweet (I have not eaten pure glycerin myself).
