I have not used that food before but I personally think that the food I feed my hamster is very nutritious and healthy, I mix burgess supa hamster harvest (not the dwarth one) with harry hamster with a few add ons like oats, a bit more mealworms, flaxseeds ect. Once a week I feed him a dime sized piece of banana, dime sized piece of cucumber, dime sized peice of romaine lettuce, a dime sized piece of carrot and a dime sized piece of scrambled or boiled egg . this is chocolate colours 26 hamster salad, she also has a dwarth one. Hope this helped!

I had to look that one up! I've been looking for an organic hamster mix for ages and I didn't think there was one that was a complete food. Did you get it from Zooplus as I found it on there and it does show the analytical bit - I'm not an expert on the amounts of fat, protein etc, but it sounds good. My only concern is that it might need supplementing as it seems to be all vegetables plus sunflower seeds. All of which are good, but I thought they needed cereals as well. I had been wondering about making up my own mix with this Pertwood muesli as a base. I emailed them to check if the fruits had preservative or not and they said all the contents are organic and preservative free.

It does describe the Meister Lampe as a supplementary food, so it does sound like it isn't complete on its own.

Pertwood Organic Fruit and Seeds Muesli 650 g (Pack of 2): Amazon.co.uk: Grocery

It's a difficult one, because something like Harry Hamster is balanced and has everything they need in, including added vitamins, and you can supplement with a bit of fresh veg every day or the odd piece of cheese, which is what I have been doing - but it's not organic and I also would like to feed something nice and healthy on that front!

I know hamsters need a lot of protein as well, so the Meister Lampe one might be a bit low in protein - but you could supplement with mealworms, cheese and the odd bit of cooked chicken or beef I guess. It would be difficult to know what balance they were getting though. I'm a bit anti all the soya and corn that are in the mixes, but the mixes do have a balance of nutrients - providing the hamster eats all of it!

I haven't heard of that hamster food before, I use Pets at Home muesli that has sunflower seeds in that hamsters love and the other one I have used is Hamster Harvest.

I was told not to give the muesli to hamsters because they just choose their favourite pieces so don't actually get a balanced diet. I therefore tried nuggets instead but they didnt care much for that. I have mixed it with the muesli but they always leave the nuggets behind and eat almost all the typesof food in the muesli. Just wondering what do you guys think about muesli?

Hi there! Seed mixes/mueslis are the best food to feed your hamster. Hamsters are natural foragers and their natural diets consist of seeds, grains and plants. Of course you can also feed nuggets alongside mixes. I feed both my hybrids a mix of Harry Hamster and Burgess Supa Dwarf hamster along with Pets at Home nuggets (but will be switching to better nuggets soon).

Thanks! That is really helpful I thought the muesli was better because it's what they enjoy! I am going to get some supa dwarf hamster food, sounds great for my little ones.

I use Harry hamster from p@h but wanted to get something to mix with it to stop boredom. So I got a bag of Nature's Touch as there was no Burgess for a Syrian in stock. I opened it the other day and it looked so different. Don't know what I expected really.
Does anyone else use this or have an opinion on the contents?
