Default Dwarf Hamsters and Bird Seed Mix?

After reading some recommendations for mixing smaller seeds into existing hamster food..could you mix in bird seed mix designed for wild birds which would have bits like millet/linseed etc into it? or am I better off with something like budgie/cockateil mix?

any help would be appreciated!

Many people add the Trill Budgie mix to the dwarf hamster food and it seems to be well liked. I would go for this rather than the parrot mix as that contains too many sunflower seeds really.

Cool I will try that - He gets enough Sunflower seeds from his P@H ham muesli mix so don't want to add anymore. I've gotta go down to Wilkinsons tomorrow and I think my local one does stock boxes of Trill..

Are there other large-ish seeds that I could give to Pikachu rather than Sunflower seeds ie Pumpkin seeds?

Dwarfs tend to ignore the large seeds. You could try lentils, bulgar wheat, soya beans, barley or even the dried 'soup' mix from supermarkets which contains a bit of everything. They like a dried mealworm too.

I have ummed and ahhed about dried mealworms, just don't fancy the idea of having a large pot of them in my flat!! I might convince my Dad to start feeding the garden birds with dried mealworm so I can at least share the batch rather than have too many to myself.

Was going to go Wilkinsons today but I've been sent home from work ill, damn food poisoning
