No.

I am looking forward to finding out what people mix through Harry Hamster and where they buy the extras from. I thought Harry Hamster was the best food out there.

It is! My hamsters lived on it, and all 3 of my hamsters lived for 3 years max.

But I have a confession, I wasn't that knowledgeable on hamsters at the time, so I didn't bother experimenting with different mixes I just gave my hammies a bowl Harry Hamster everyday, but porridge in the morning. I did give them a range of treats, but most came in a packet, like the yogurt drops and hamster o's

This isn't a recipe I found, but one I just thought on the top of my head, this doesn't involve the harry hamster food, just a homemade treat!
Hamsters have banana's, and they like the occasional drink of milk, so, how about a big banana slice, soaked in milk then served in a dish? does that sound good?

I am sure you were a wonderful parent to them. People learn all the time. It does not mean they were bad before they learned something new.

Do you mean a dried banana slice soaked in milk because I cannot imagine a fresh slice soaking milk well. I prefer the idea of fresh food to dried food, though many people here give dried banana to their hamsters. I know it is a worry that fresh banana spoils quickly but Toby eats his banana fast!

I meant fresh banana because I used to have it as desert, chopped banana in a bowl of milk, very tasty

If you want Toby to eat it on the spot and not pouch it, chop the slice into quarters, then he would eat it because its small enough to eat quickly. Giving him a big bit would make him shove it all in his pouch

Yes and banana is a bit sticky to go in his pouch.

Yes that sounds cool then! I love when I have porridge at the same time as Toby, he and his Daddy eating the same thing together. You could be the same with banana and milk dessert!

Mother and Daughter eating Banana and Milk.

To tell you the truth, my first hamster, Eddie, was only 18months old when he died
My second hamster Lillie was 3 years old, and so was my third, Kimmi. This might be an unfair and false correlation, but I think that female hamsters live longer than males

Maybe its just the fact that Eddie was my first ever hamster. I didn't have much advise as I do now so I didn't fully understand how to look after one. But you and Toby would be fine, I never had HC to help me 6 years ago

Hamsters usually have a life span of 18 to 24 months, but older individuals
are reported frequently.

You gave all three of them wonderful lives. As far as males versus females, I am reading mixed reports on whether one gender lives longer than the other.

Well, Im starting to feel that it depends on the environment (conditions they are kept in, what they eat etc) and it could be to do with inheritance (inherited any diseases, deformities, maybe longlivity)

Lets PM chat, our chat is starting to have nothing to do with this thread

Welll here we go. I'm going against pretty much everyone on here

I don't like harry hamster...It just looks like a lot of waste to me.

I love Xtravital hamster. It's a nice mix with little waste!
