I just noticed that the same people sell a kit for doing it too with a tub, and calcium enriched soil all included Grow Your Own Food- Various seeds to grow FULL KIT tub soil seeds FREE POST. This would be perfect for me! I just wish the postage to Germany wasn't so expensive! I know it sounds extravagant to buy a kit but I wouldn't want to buy a bag of soil. I wouldn't know what to do with it after I had used some for the plants! we do have any outside space in my apartment.

you could always buy a smaller pack of soil, and use any old tubs to plant millet etc, even if you gave away or binned the rest of the bag, it would probably save on postage what you spent?!?

I am far too tempted. Unfortunately I have a bad history with plants, I have yet to manage to keep one alive, so I'm not sure this is for me

I killed a plant once because I didn't water it enough. The next plant I was given I managed to drown. I honestly think I could under-water a cactus and over-water an aquatic plant!

The last plant I was given I nearly managed to scorch to death. Luckily I was going home from uni shortly after I received the plant and Mum rescued it; it's now in the garden being lovingly tended which is good because the boyfriend gave it to me!

Kissa - I nearly killed one by not watering it enough, then watered it to death. Is that worse?
I also have no idea if my cacti are alive or not... Hmm... I did leave them at home for almost a year when not living there but they're in the flat now, I just don't know when I last even saw them lol

I'm trying this stuff anyway though, its so cheap its not the end of the world if I kill it

Our seeds arrived recently, so today we had to go out anyway and went to poundland. Bought eight ham-toys/plantpots, returned home, shoved sand in the lot, put seeds in/on it, added water and will now wait and see what happens.

We're calling the plantpots ham toys as they were bought with the plan that they'll later be emptied and used as ham toys - the russians plants are even growing in pots the same as the two they already have in their cage for playing lol
The robos and Scamp have different plant pots that are all the same and will work as little tunnel type house things later (even if Scamp may not be as impressed as the robos).
