Re: Nugget's thread
Oh Nugget. Your such a tease.
Is there something in his tank permanently that you could use to pick him up in? If it’s a familiar thing, it may make it easier for you to lift him out. Food bribe to may be useful to.
If there is space for the tube. Leave it in his cage. Then once he enjoys it. You could block both ends and lift it and him out.

Re: Nugget's thread
One of these days I'll have a proper update on Nugget. Have had a busy year and he is still a very untame little Robo! He is quite brave in the tank but is very scared of hands. So he is a character to watch and sits and listens when you talk and comes to the front of the cage to see what is going on but the slightest noise of the cage lid or a hand in the cage and he panics and hides behind his wheel - flattens himself between the wheel and the stand vertically!
So it's very much - I know and like you but keep at arm's length! When life has quietened down a bit I'm thinking he'd be better in a barred cage with better access - I love the tank but don't get on with it well with top access only. Both Nugget and I are quite happy to talk through the glass though.

Re: Nugget's thread
t's a shame he hasn't become hand tame yet but little Nugget does sound very sweet I tend to agree that you might make more progress in a barred cage just going on my own experience, I've always found it much easier.

Re: Nugget's thread
Nugget is cute and is quite brave.
I have had limited success with Murphy. He can be easily scared sometimes, then other times he will take food from on my hand or between my finger and thumb.
I also wonder if having a wire cage would help with taming, due to being able to feed through the bars, not having to put a hand in from above and possibly having access door(s) on the side.

Re: Nugget's thread
Loki had the same style of cage. She was rescued aged about 9 months. Over time she became quite used to the noise of that top door opening. When here it was associated with food and treat time. My daughter could handle her eventually at least cup her in two hands to transport to the playpen. I don't think a robo is safe out of the cage without a playpen! Far too fast on their little paws...

Re: Nugget's thread
Yes it would be nice to be able to hold him. He was handled a lot before I got him and had a couple of vet visits as well - I think rather than taming him it made him hate hands! Although I know robos are notorious for being scared and shy.
When life settles down a bit I will make an effort to hand tame him but I do find getting into the top of the Kerry awkward - a front door would be nice
I hate to think of a Robo out of a playpen! Nightmare.

Re: Nugget's thread
I will be hoping that his hand taming will go better for you both soon. Hopefully, you will be able to get a barred cage with a front or side opening when everything gets less busy. It does sound like that may make things easier. Nugget does sound really sweet though and he certainly is a cutie.

Nugget and spinach leaf
No idea why they have come out sideways! I tried rotating them but they still came out sideways. Taken with new phone.
