Re: Flower and Fairy are still so nervous
I know it must seem like a long time but it isn't really that long for robos, some do require a lot of patience to tame but keep on chatting away to them & I'm sure you will make progress!

Ok. Will do. They are just soooo gorgeous. I want to stroke them and kiss them (I feel like a small child). I will be perfectly happy if they get to the sitting on my hand stage. (Aww).
Thanks for the encouragement.
Time sure does fly doesnt it serendipity? Will just have to dip into my reserves of patience (where ever it has got to)!

Re: Flower and Fairy are still so nervous
That sounds like progress!
I know some people do favour taking them out (how I'm not sure lol!) for taming regardless of how shy they are but I think slow & steady with bucket loads of patience is the best way to go, just keep chatting away to them

Re: Flower and Fairy are still so nervous
Will keep on chatting! A lot of youtube hamster taming vids start off with them already in the taming box ... I do wonder how people manage to catch fearful ones without stressing them. I would have to totally destroy F and F's beds to get them out of their cages.
They are soooooo beautiful and I really love it when they appear. Luckily both syrians are allowing strokies which is wonderful.

Re: Flower and Fairy are still so nervous
I recommend bathtub bonding. Take blankets and put them on the bottom of your tub and cover the drain. Put a treat in a coffee mug and stick it in their cage. Now you wait for your first victim. When one goes into the mug cover the top with your hand so they can't get out. Sit in the bathtub and let the Hammy out. You can play in the bathtub without fear of escaping

Re: Flower and Fairy are still so nervous
The idea of getting into the bath with any dwarf let alone a tiny robo just scares me lol! I prefer to stick to bins or safe play pens.

There is no way that i could get a hand in to either of their cages without them fleeing into their nest which is why i have not been able to tame them yet.
I do like the sound of the bath tub method for syrians but as cypher said, it would be a bit nerve wracking for me with teeny roborovskis!

Goodness me, there's no way I'd try a bathtub with my robo that's not for the faint hearted
