but if one of them is not pregnant, then you've separated them and got 2 lonely robos for nothing. i'd probably leave them and if you see that both are massive, or squabbling and making huge nests, then separate. i think it's unlikely that both were in heat that night and you only saw one mating. I've had robos mate on 2 separate occassions where no litter was produced (p@h told me that females do it for dominance - turned out i had a mixed sex colony)

As Bunsey has said i think its best to keep the girls together till a few days before the birthing date, at that point id move the robo who hadn't nested into a separate tank. When my robo was ready i only really noticed her getting bigger a day before the birth (she ballooned out!).

What I have found with pregnant robos is that they, well, get a little hormonal and start attacking the other robos in their cage. Just like humans really

So if you do decide to keep them together, watch out for any serious fighting. I've had a lot of blood shed purely because the female is attacking her mate or (more common, for me atleast) another female.

Good luck with it, the babies (if there are any) are like presents. You will be dying to have a sneaky peek but their mother will keep them well hidden!x

Thanks for the info guys

I tried a trial seperation last night and they literally just sat next to eachother on opposite sides of the gauze for msot of the night. :S They even took food from their bowls to eat together as well!

Needless to say I have removed the gauze for the moment. If they do fight I will seperate them again.

I would never have intentionally mated robo's, but luckily I have homes for any babies that appear
