Default Robocop

Please welcome my new hammie Robocop, I got him off HC member A_Couple_In_Love as they couldn't keep him anymore. So last Thursday I drove from Manchester from St. Helens to pick him up.

He is absolutely tiny.

I've been trying to tame him the last couple of days, although its going very slowly and he's been trying to jump out of my hands at every opportunity. I had my hand in his carrier to get him used to the scent of my hands and within a few seconds he'd climbed up my hand, up my arm and up to my shoulder and he then jumped off my shoulder. Thankfully I was sat on my sofa and he landed on the seat next to me where I grabbed him and put him back in his cage.

Also he'd never had a flying saucer wheel before and he's had great fun running on it and working out how fast to run before stopping running to either spin round on the wheel, or he flies off, which I think he loves as he gets right back on and does it all over again. Have cleared the area around his wheel so he doesn't hurt himself when he flings himself off.

He also loves digging and sleeping in different areas of his cage, never found him sleeping in the same area twice. Today he's sleeping under his flying saucer.

I had a sat nav and I still got lost,

He is a right character, his favourite game at the minute is waiting until I loosen my grip on him slightly, then he tries to jump out my hand, yesterday he landed in my hair, today he landed on the sofa.

Really nice to see members helping one another and assuring their wee friends get homes with like-minded people.

Had a bit of a scare with this little hammy last night. Was sat on my sofa holding him in my hand, then all of a sudden he jumped out of my hand, onto the floor. Out onto my landing, then jumped down 5 steps, landed and jumped down another step and thankfully stayed there. I walked past him and grabbed a hamster ball I keep on the stairs and popped him in that. Tipped him out into his carrier and checked him out, thankfully he hasn't damaged anything.

The pics show where he landed with the help of the cuddly toy. The other pic is of him this morning, looking a bit sorry for himself.
