Albino robos?

Does anyone know if any English speaking robo breeders work with albinos? The only thing I've found is a single mention on Tammy's website, but I've never seen any photos or heard anything else about them...until someone (in the US) posted a pic on the another forum, confirming that albino robos does exist.

Photo is not mine. I was feeling a bit dubious until it was confirmed that she came from a litter of agouti robos.


I tried to contact her owner to get a contact for the breeder, but haven't heard back for the longest time. Mostly I'm just very excited to hear about another color mutation for robos, and is wondering if anyone has heard anything about them?

I love `white or albino` rodents but I doubt I will ever come across a white roborovski! Gorgeous though they are, I much prefer the natural agouti with the eyebrow expressions! They lose that with these colour mutations.

I think Biscotti was asking about red eyed whites rather than the more normal black eyed white robos. White robos definetly exist and are bred by at least two forum members.

I'd never heard of red eyed white robos though so I'm afraid I've not got a clue if anyone does breed them.

Yes kyril is correct, I'm asking about either a true albino mutation, or possibly a red eyed white. It's the first time I've seen them, that's why I'm really curious.

I know that the c-locus mutation tend to be one of the "more usual" mutation to crop up among rodents, but never have seen it in robos, that's why I'm wondering if it's an albino or if it might be a combination since the cinnamon/rust robos have red eyes (similar to the REW Syrians). Although, AFAIK there are no cinnamon robos in the U.S. yet.

I agree with racinghamster about robo's eyebrows though. I do really love the agouti coat, the cute little eyebrows are a robo's trademark and I've heard more than a few people saying that they prefer agouti over other colors even if they are the most common place. I must admit I also have a soft spot for agoutis as well.

How interesting, I have never seen an albino robo or heard of one in the UK. I have a white with ruby eyes in Tinker which I've not had or heard of before, but his eyes are ruby like the cinnamon robo as opposed to bright red.

I have not heard of them being bred in the uk. I love my black eyed whites, just had my first litter of them and have fell in love with them even more.
Is it just me though or does that look like a normal black eyed white with red eye caused by camera flash? I have caught a few of mine and they have a red eye even though they are black.
