Need help sexing robo pup
A few weeks ago I rescued a group of baby robos off of Craiglist, they were 3 weeks old when they came to me. At around 3 weeks, I was pretty sure I had 3 girls and 1 boy. At 4 weeks, when I needed to separate them, it looked more like 2 girls and 2 boys. Over the last two weeks I've tried to double check over and over, and one of the boys seems to change his sex once in awhile.
I'm still inclined to say that it's a boy, but the distance between the vent didn't seem as far as the other boy (but just a tad farther than the girls), and small dents in the fur near the back legs are throwing me off. I was advised that nipples are not a reliable way to check older pups, and sure enough, when I check my adult robo boys they also had small indentations to the sides of their tummy.
Help please! They are now just past 6 weeks old and it really shouldn't be this hard by now. I'd really appreciate some expert opinions.

Re: Need help sexing robo pup
He looks like Muffin did. I missexed Muffin for a couple of months until he kindly grew testicles and a scent gland...
If in doubt, keep it in with the male (that way there's at most one potential pregnancy rather than two potential pregnancies). I think male but I'm by no means an expert - have only sexed three robos and I got Muffin utterly wrong anyway lol (I can sex other dwarf hams easily from young ages though...)

Thanks krill, he(?)'s in with the boys tank currently for the reason you stated. Robos does seem a bit harder to sex (the ambiguous ones, that is) than the other dwarfs to me also.

Re: Need help sexing robo pup
If its any help, I just looked based on shape rather than the gap and shape seems to say male too. Didn't think of looking at that the first time because I know I shouldn't sex hams on shape alone, but shape is so much easier for me to tell with lol
The indents don't look like nipples at all to me either.
Am still hoping others'll help, but I'm as sure as I can be of male anyway

Re: Need help sexing robo pup
There is ALWAYS a sneaky one!!!!! Every litter I've had there is one that I can't quite decide on, spacing not as far as the boys, but not quite as close as the girls. Rolo was my last one like that, but I do have a little one the same this time. They normally turn out to be boys for me, and little one is in with the boys, but he is constantly checked. Often they develop later, getting scent glands, and dropping later than all the others just to make you worry for longer
The middle pic the gap does look bigger and more boy proportions

Re: Need help sexing robo pup
My Hershey caused confusion about gender as a baby (well, 16 weeks old) and ended up being taken off the sales table first time around for pregnancy watch before I succumbed to robo charms several weeks later. He developed male parts a little late ... and wasn't pregnant

Re: Need help sexing robo pup
Thanks Pom and Vectis, it's good to know that these ambiguous little ones tend to turn out to be boys, and hopefully Ollie just happen to be a late bloomer. I'm still checking him everyday, he must be so sick of being turned on his back by now.
