I don't want to get boring with daily updates but so far Whisper is continuing totally amaze me with her confidence & progress so one more update for now!
She was quite the early bird yesterday, she comes out about 4-4:30 for a quick snack, I heard a little rustle & looked round to see her discovering the joys of porridge! She's only having the teeniest bit of anything new or fresh at the moment but so far broccoli, courgette, spinach, chicken & porridge have been a bit hit, she's not keen on cucumber which is a surprise.
She was about again for a quick forage again about 5pm then up for real by 7pm & we had a good hour & a half together, partly interacting & partly just letting her do her own thing, she had a very brief intro to her play bin which she was a little nervous about but not too much & was fine when she went back in the cage acting as if nothing at all unusual had happened!
This morning was pee hunt day lol! so I lifted the lid on her house to see a sleepy little face peering out at me, too cute!
No problem getting her out & she was ok in her play bin for the short time it took me to sort her house out, no pee! I think it may all be in her wheel, if it is it will make life a lot easier but I still have a few places to explore yet…..
One thing I really like about the ceramic house is that it has a little lip around the base so you can lift it out without totally destroying the nest & hoard to check underneath.
She's only been using the one compartment & completely stuffed the connecting tube with substrate so I've taken that out for now & when I put her back in the cage she immediately began to investigate the second house compartment, came out to forage collecting up food & making a new stash in there!
She did eventually settle back into the first house & has now made mountains of substrate over both entrances & her little burrowing hole in the cage corner, she's had a very busy morning.
None of that fazed her at all, she was still happy to climb into my hand with or without food, let me lift her out & hold her against me a couple of times with out panicking or jumping & then she had her first little exploratory run in my sleeve, I've so missed having a ham up my sleeve so I think we both enjoyed that!
I'm not so much scatter feeding yet as hiding her food in various places so I can keep a check on what she actually eats but it doesn't take her long to find it!
She's loving her Fuzzbutts & showing off her whiskers!
And having lots of cute moments
She had her first weigh in today & tipped the scales at 35g, teeny girl but a healthy weight for her age I think.
That's enough of a long ramble for today I think!
