Default Photos of Litter 1 - Colour Query!

This is Blings litter, Dove Tort x Yellow (Dante). As far as we know Dante doesnt carry black and has never shown signs in his litters so far though going back to the genetics i got, i dont believe they are right, i only have 2 and a 1/2 generations for him and i dont know which half the GGGranparents are because of the way it is set out. It is also down that when a SH DG was mated to a SH Golden, a Honey was produced and i find it hard to believe so he may well carry black after all!

This is the litter of four where I said we had 1 Satin cinnie, 1 Satin Yellow, 1 Satin Umbrous Golden and 1 non satin Umbrous Golden. From looking at them im starting to think the two 'Umbrous Goldens' might actually be Yellow Blacks!?

What do you think?

The 3 satins are girls and the non satin is a boy.

Satin Yellow

Satin Cinnie (poorly coloured)

Satin Thing (Umbrous Golden/Yellow Black)

Non Satin Thing (Umbrous Golden/Yellow Black)

Bling (mum) Meant to be a Satin Dove Tort but i swear it is ONLY Kat thats ever seen red eyes on this hamster! Genetically she must be but she sure as heck doesnt look like a dove tort!

Flashes would be much more obvious if they were umbrous golden Moosley - they sure look yellow black to me!!
As for mum - I have had dove tort before and the satin would darken the colour so I think she's about right.
Some red eyes can be so dark that you have to look up into the light and pull back the eye rim a little to see they are red!!

Ooh, I've never seen a yellow black before - they're very pretty aren't they?
Is that a standardised colour?

Well that girlie sure looks a lot like the yellow-black girl I had - I would put money on that one being yellow black! No as sure about the satin one, but the non-satin one is the absolute image of mine, so Im guessing the satin is too! V cute indeed

WOOOOHOOOOO

I was sure that the non satin was a YB, it was just that until yesterday, as far as i knew the sire of the litter did NOT carry black which would have meant they couldnt have been YBs. Im pretty sure most of the genetic history I have for Dante is wrong, less and less of it make sense with what he produces (cant remember it off the top of my head but Kat understands it better than me). He certainly cant have DG where he is meant to (which means BVH that Drambuie on has DG on one side of his history but he has so much of it on that side in Smoke Pearls and Dark Greys).

All I can say now is D'OHHHH!! Why is it that we accidentally produce not only the colour we have been after for ages but that colour in Satin too... in a PET quality litter. Doesnt mean we wont keep one but we wont breed from them because they wont get big enough and Dams genetics are insane with all the Silver Grey, Black, Chocolate, Dove, Yellow and LBJs in it.
