Update - pups are now 2 1/2 days old and keeping me awake at night with their chirping, but I love it! It is nice to know they are okay in the nest

Daddio Winter has a Gabber Rex coming at the weekend and I hope that by putting him in a bigger cage, this will encourage him to be more active again. He was removed from the ZZ he shared with Autumn and put in a mini Duna so I want him to have space again and I don't think he is getting that in the Duna. Hopefully he will settle down soon. Here is a photo I caught of him earlier today

Autumn is being a great mum so far from what I can tell, keeping those pups happy and coming out for food and water when they are quiet. I am trying to stay out of her way but here is a photo I took last night while she was out for some food.

The nest is under the wooden arch you can see in the background, so pups are all cosy and warm in plenty of bedding and will be dark under there too Wish I could see them so I know how many there are but I am being very patient and know that they will be out when the time is right

Hehe, as soon as I know I will of course let you guys know on here. My money is on 2 pups

I am definitely excited by it all, first thing I do when I go home from work is lie on my bed in the dark and wait for the little squeaks so I know everything is all okay in the nest!

All fun bets are welcome.

I perhaps do have a very slight advantage but all I am going on is what I have said. Mum didnt appear to be showing at all. And the cute noises coming from the nest, appear to only be coming from very few mouths...

Time will tell!

Wow!! I don't know too much about breeding but I can definitely tell you're doing great! And well done for staying patient even though it must be sooo so tempting. Your hammies are definitely lucky to have you!

After regular squeaking coming from the nest this morning, I am now convinced that there is just one pup in there! The noises appear to only be coming from one tiny mouth!
I may eat my words in a few days when they venture out and there is more, but for now, I am definitely convinced there is just one!

Being very patient waiting to find out!!

Well, she first bred quite young & had 2 litters close together so it may only be a small litter but you never know! Would be nice if you had one boy & one girl & with a bit of luck you could then have 2 happy pairs long term, a boy to share with daddy / brother Winter & a girl for Autumn. Can't wait to find out, it's so difficult for you to be patient I'm sure but it will be worth it in the end
