Default The line between squabbling and fighting?

I have two russian campbell dwarf ladies. I got them from the same habitat and they always sleep together and snuggle up with each other. Today they were inside of one of their houses when the normal play squeaking got more high pitched than usual. I immediately took a look and both of them were fine, no bite marks ...nothing. I am wondering where is the line between normal hammie squabbles and actual serious fight? I really do not wish to separate them but if I have to do that, I would rather do it sooner than later.

I'd say separate them then they get a bite mark or a rip in their ear or something.

I'd say it's a very fine line & a bit hard to tell the difference, sometimes they'll fight & then go back to sleeping together so you may not even see it.
If you're at all concerned it's probably better for them & your peace of mind to separate them.

To prevent any future injuries, I'd separate them.
I know you've not had them long but, sometimes they can get on for months/years and live happily and sometimes them living together isn't meant to be.
Hamsters are perfectly happy living on their own and you'll see a change in them in a good way when you do separate them.
