Sparkle's last chance

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Sparkle. I do hope things manage to turn out ok for her

Well Robert our vet wasn't really sure what was going on but he thinks there is some congenital fault probably with Sparkle's kidneys or liver. She definitely has fluid in her abdomen. He couldn't feel any thing much except for the fluid and we agreed to try her on an antibiotic for 10 days in case she has an infection and see how things go. I offered her the syringe and she lapped it up It is banana Septrin. So we shall see how she goes on. She didn't bite him or even attempt to bite so I was very proud of her. He said he was really unsure how things would work out but if we try this we really have done everything we can for her because she is so small and he can't fix a birth defect. He examined her very thoroughly and gently and even sounded her tiny chest. I do trust him as he is experienced and has done further study and qualifications on small animals xx
Her family are in touch all the time and being kept updated on her daily as well as paying for her treatment which is very good of them since they only had her a short while but they are very responsible. Wish her luck - this really is Sparkle's last chance now x

I'm glad Sparkle had a good experience with her vet examination, and that there's something to try to see if it helps. Having a good vet is invaluable - I'd be lost without mine. Good luck little Sparkle x

Fingers crossed she feels better with the antibiotics- you are doing all you can and I'm sure she knows it, as she was so well behaved. Your vet sounds amazing though! I may have to venture a litter further if I need to take any of my little fluffs to the vet in future- I haven't had very good experiences with mine unfortunately.

I've only now caught up on this thread. Poor Sparkle! It's awful to think she has finally found her forever home but may not be around to enjoy it. She's a beautiful girl and I really hope the anti biotic does the trick for her. Bless her. Still only a baby .
