Gutterglitter, I'm not sure why he wakes up so late. I'm consistent in my timings.

I'm just worried that I'll have to give him treats to get him out all his life. That's a lot of treats and I have to be careful not to give him too many!

Well, I wish you luck in your efforts! I wish I had some advice to offer but my little ones have horrible sleeping patterns.

Thanks. To be honest, after reading the comments here, I'm starting to think he's just a bit lazy.

I'm going to take him out every night at 9.45pm because he was alert at that time yesterday and didn't go to sleep in a corner. After a few days, I'll try to gradually move that time earlier by 15 mins or so. I have no idea whether it'll work but let's see.

Thanks for all your comments guys.

He is cute, but he is lazy. Not sure how to change that, just hope it doesn't become ingrained into adulthood.

Percy sleeps for 18-20 hours of the day despite my efforts to energize him :P

I've been getting him up earlier and I think it's working. I must admit it's a very gradual process and sometimes I feel it's working while at other times I feel it's not.

But in all fairness, I think there is a change. I've been waking him up before 10pm and I notice that he is more and more alert every day. Of course since today the clock moved back to GMT, that means I can wake him up just before 9pm and he wouldn't know I cheated

My hammy wakes up at 9 everyday, which is a bit late cause I only get like 20 mins of playing time. I’m waking her up at 8 everyday so she starts waking up at 8 on her own. Is this okay?
