Re: Bar chewing?
The upgrade made though was from a Ferplast Duna (perspex cage that can`t be chewed) to a Savic Cambridge, which is barred and started the hamster bar chewing. So although a size upgrade was made in this instance, the fact that the bar chewing became an issue once the hamster was moved was why I mentioned a further upgrade to something like a Zoozone 2. Bigger cage, no side bars. I may have rambled on too much and should have kept it to a simple sentence, which I probably will do in future to save confusion.
If the original poster comes back to this thread, that`s all I was trying to say. If the cambridge is proving to be problematic, why not try something like the Zoozne 2? If the hamster was used to a perspex tank (Duna) a move to a similar cage with a larger footprint may have been the best solution, but as I say, nobody needs to take that advice if they don`t want to. It`s not personal it`s just an opinion.

Re: Bar chewing?
Yes. But the fact that the OP had (if I remember correctly) given reasons against another cage change in a different thread is why cage size was irrelevant here.
They can't (or couldn't) upgrade the cage so we gave advice based on that. Which was the advice both needed and wanted here.

Re: Bar chewing?
Guys thank you for all your help, Even if it went slightly off track Sweep's issue is clearly not a case of a bigger cage seen as I just bought one two weeks ago. The lemon trick worked for a bit...she now ignores it completely and still bar chews! The blow trick is sort of working, she usually moves to a different space though. I have woven cardboard in the space's where she usually chews and she has also just moved to a new space in the cage, although the cardboard works, it means the majority of the cage being woven and that would look awful in my opinion. I'll keep trying the gentle blow for now, I also found that getting her out and moving a few things around, (clearing out her bed and hiding treats) works for a while too. I was thinking about bitter apple spray? but like the lemon I don't want her to get used it and carry on chewing! Hopefully I'll break it though! thanks again
Also I would just like to add;
how much I appreciate all your help, and how kind some of you have been to me on this forum! You've all helped me learn so much more about little sweep, and hamsters in general. so thank you! <3

Re: Bar chewing?
it may do, also with the bowl, maybe try scatter all of the food, and leave the bowl empty for her to find it all and fill it, it will keep her busy for longer .
Also there are tricks like putting treats in a toilet roll tube, and sealing both ends up, and letting her chew them out, all occupiers, and hopefully she'll forget the bars exist.
