Hi all so I was just wondering if anyone knows a good Syrian breeder around London? I am looking to get a Syrian but I am not so keen on buying from a pet shop anymore as all my other hamsters have had problems e.g taming problems, agressive problems and even have been sold female hamsters when asked for male. So if anyone knows any breeder please let me know ...

Thanks Amanda

I went to Tuftyfluffs in Borehamwood. Top class knowledgeable breeder and judge of Syrians. There is a website though it is not updated much. You can email via the website.

Was just about to ask this myself - I checked out Tuffyfluffs yesterday and it says they have some so I will go and email today :)

Hello

Sorry if not right place to start - I did check out the breeder forum too.

It seems the only breeder near London is Home - Tuftyfluff Hamsters (http://tuftyfluffhamsters.webs.com/) I've sent a message via the webpage but I don't think it's very up to date so perhaps they are not breeding at the moment. I'm a bit worried if I did go there - because it's outter London I would have to get a train back home and how the new hamster would cope with such a big travel plan...

Perhaps it's better to buy from a local pet store instead?

You need to be a bit more patient. As a personal friend of Sue at Tuftyfluff I know for a fact she will not be available to reply this week.
It's up to you to decide where to buy Nyksta however a breeder hammy is worth waiting for and I'm pretty sure Tuftyfluff do have some. The travel by train should not be a problem as long as you have a carrier to take with you.

Although I do not know Sue like Soufflé, I saw her at the Andover show last Saturday. You have to be patient over email replies as she is busy. Having been to Tuftyfluffs in May I know she is certainly breeding and had babies coming along. However there is bound to be a waiting list. She also breeds Winter Whites and Campbells for any one else reading this out of interest.

Thanks for the replies... I hope I wasn't coming across as being impatient because I certainly didn't mean too! I will wait patiently to hear back from her

A Syrian from Tuftyfluff is certainly worth the wait. She breeds beautiful hamsters with lovely calm personalities. Babies will be hand tamed and so you will have a head start on taming. If you have not heard back in another couple of weeks, a follow up will do no harm. If you can bear the wait then hang on in there!

I know you said no to pet shops but the owner of this one is a breeder too, she handles them daily and they also get daily time in the balls. It may be a trek as she is in Weybridge but its another option though tuftyfluff sounds amazing! Anyway that's where I got the little dude and she's a friend of a friend so just an option :)
