Signature only appearing some of the time

Basically the title. I have a picture in my signature, but it only appears some of the time when I post a reply to a thread, despite the fact that I always have the "show your signature" option ticked, and make sure of this every time I post. It doesn't seem to make a difference whether I use the "quick reply" option at the bottom of the thread page, or click on the "reply" button. Help?

I think you need to type more than 15 words to get it to show

I think so that it wouldn't bog down the website with too many pictures. At least that makes since to me!
