Hope you recover well. Illness is no fun.

Luckily hamsters are fun. Hope young Raffy is keeping your spirits up.

Thank you all. Yes it is quite serious but luckily caught and treated straight away. No long stockings - maybe that’s if there’s a clot in the leg as well. Lots of jabs and scans and now blood thinning meds. Strangely I didn’t feel unwell really - just had shortness of breath suddenly and dizziness and Doctor said call 999. No fun being in hospital but the food was quite good!

Raffy looked a bit peaky tonight but soon perked out after some time out.

Thank goodness you called the DR and were able to get treatment quickly.

It is lovely to hear Raffy enjoyed his time out.

I actually left it a few hours before calling the Dr. But something told me it was quite serious and hadn’t worn off.

Raffy is so much better if I snuggle him in the crook of my arm and give him kisses. He sits for a bit then and looks relaxed and happy. So will carry on with sofa time for now so he gets tamer. Can’t do it for long or he’d be off the sofa. More like kissy noises near the top of his head and he seems to like them

So very sorry to hear that you have been in hospital Serendipity. Glad that you are home again after treatment.
Raffy seems to have missed you and pleased with your attention again.

Thank you Cloudy and Coco. Yes hamster cuddles can be very nice . I know someone who used to be a member on here used hamsters as therapy pets with her clients (I think she was a psychologist).

That is amazing. I did not think that could work as hamsters are not usually awake in the day.

Cloudy- once they are tame enough to handle and sit on you the interaction and bonding can really progress and they do seem to like kisses and kissy noises . Sometimes! Newt used to bat me off and not that interested depending on what mood he was in. Charlie used to bask in it .

It’s not as easy with Robos unless they get very hand tamed which isn’t easy sometimes. Partly why I like having a Syrian as well usually and they are easier to pick up generally. Some people might not agree. A tame Robo might sit on you for some time as well.

I hope one day you will be able to handle Orko similarly. But taming a Robo takes quite a bit of input regularly and they are the most frightened of all species I think (read that somewhere) - understandable when they are so tiny.
