I tried playpens but our hamsters had one thing on their minds: how to escape from them to get a proper run around.
I used to pluck Rodney off the top of the clothes rail in his younger days. He used to climb up the clothes like your Daisy climbs the curtains. They are sneaky with it and climb so we don't notice until they reach the top.
Jack isn't that good at climbing because he struggles to pull his 280g weight up. I've watched him doing pull ups and fall off.

Re: Hello Jack
that must be hilarious to watch Jack's failed pull ups. when my Campbells hamster Dusty decides to pull himself up to his 2nd level instead of simply using the ramp, everyone always gets a good laugh watching him as he tries with all his might, little feet dangling, until he finally gives up and takes the ramp.

It is very funny to watch. Foodie Jack thought he had found a short cut to his food bowl!

Re: Hello Jack
Typical Jack. Asked to come out and then hovered around me 20 minutes later because he 20220826_212845.jpgwanted back to his food bowl.

Yeah, Jack has me trained. It's that very face looking out from under his bridge that made me cancel his adoption.

Re: Hello Jack
I bought the steps and then couldn't find a place in a cage but they like them as a climbing toy. Rory often sleeps in the corner behind them. 20220912_221049.jpg
