Haha, he was acting like one too. Running from shelf to shelf meerkating. Ears up and listening very intently. No idea what he was hearing though.

I love it when the Meerkat. Most of our Syrians haven’t really done that - very laid back. Even active Newt didn’t really. Raffy does it though . I had always assumed it was mainly females that meerkatted.

All our Syrians meerkat but i've never seen a Robo meerkat i don't think. Must have a look through the photos. Russian dwarfs meerkat alright.

I love it too when they meerkat. I'm just wondering if we should start a thread of meerkatting hamsters so we can feast our eyes?

Ooh do! Sounds like a great idea. You start it .

I can’t imagine how a Robo would meerkat ha ha. I think they’re too round! They’d probably fall over. It’s an interesting point though - about hamster behaviour. I. The wild meeerkatting seems to be an attack pose to scare something or someone off. Whereas robos scurry and hide. Which is maybe why they do that so much in cages - their normal behaviour.

Robos kind of squat on their back legs to wash. Maybe they don't meerkat because they are so short, hehe or like you say, probably fall over, haha.

Yes, the wild meerkatting pose combined with hissing and paws up like a bear is definitely a threatening pose to get the opponent to back off.

Jack took up climbing! That's new.

But a few minutes later he was flat out behind the bathroom bin snoozing. That's more like him.20220813_221150.jpg
