Default Hamster pees & poos in his house

Hi, I'm new at being a parent to my little Syrian hamster so would appreciate any advice on this matter. My hamster pees and poos where he sleeps but when he is up and running around his enclosure he uses his potty corner. My concern is about him peeing in his sleeping area - I've heard that this could lead to health issues. What can I do to help potty train him properly so he only pees in his potty corner and not in his house? Also, I clean out his poo and soiled bedding from his house once every 3 days - is that too much cleaning?

I have a Syrian like that who won't leave his house during his sleeping/resting hours. The solution is a big enough house with a removable roof to accommodate his nest, hoard and an en suite toilet. He keeps his nest clean and dry and pees and poops in the toilet opposite. Any food he doesn't want he chucks in there as well. I have two ceramic corner toilets so when i lift one out to clean i have a clean one to put in at the same time. I empty his toilet about twice a week.

Thank you for our advice. Love the idea of having two toilets in the enclosure. We will try a bigger house for our little Humphrey.
