The Grogu Thread
Hello everyone!
After several years without a hamster, I adopted an 11 month old Syrian from a small animal rescue - and after a few weeks of waiting for him to be ready to come home, he arrived on the 17th February
We named him Grogu, and left him pretty much to settle in other than checking he had eaten and making sure he could access all areas of his cage.
He doesn't seem bothered in the slightest, though - he's a curious, funny little fellow already who has managed to choose the direction that the wheel has a slight squeak in (after testing out both directions, obviously) and has dragged a chew bigger than he is into his nest He seems interested in me and has already decided that my hand sometimes contains treats, which he is apparently a fan of.
This thread is for Grogu pictures and adventures
Thanks to everyone who gave advice and updated me on the latest in hamster care since my last furball.

Re: The Grogu Thread
When I saw his photo from the rescue, he looked "adorably ugly" and it made me think of Grogu, haha! Turns out he's a lot more handsome than we thought he was going to be, but the name still fits

Re: The Grogu Thread
He looks to be enjoying his cage! Looks like he is a red eyed? . Is he cream or cinnamon?

Re: The Grogu Thread
He's having a blast I think, always either burrowing about and foraging or in his wheel - or waiting for me to appear with his fresh food if I'm late. He is red eyed! And he's cream, I think - head and some back patches, white everywhere else. What on a rat I would call a "hooded" variety but I don't know in hamster terms

Re: The Grogu Thread
Grogu is very enthusiastic about his food, loves his wheel and is enjoying foraging in his substrate, particularly at the deep end of his cage. He's friendly and curious and we're taking it slowly but he's fine being stroked and always takes food from my fingers now.

Re: The Grogu Thread
Grogu is now happy and confident and has adjusted really well to being picked up and handled. He always comes to the front of the cage to be stroked now, and won't leave even if he's been fed until he gets some attention. He has also decided that all fresh veggies etc need to be hand fed to him one piece at a time or he's not interested.

Re: The Grogu Thread
Lovely photo! He is adorable. So fluffy That is one thing I love about those cages - that they come up to that big low door and rest their paws on it
