A Hamster Called George

Finally got a few pics of George, who doesn't often stay still for a snap or two.
As you can see at three months old he is quite a size.....

The taming is the slowest I have ever known, he will allow me the stroke him a little then he gets either a tad funny about it with a little semi aggressiveness about it, he often wants to come out of his cage but will not allow me to pick him up, so he gets to stay put in his cage.

Thank you Coco, he has grown so quickly , it is funny as if he hears the salad bag being rustled/shaken he is out of his tubes straight away looking at me wanting his fresh nibbles, he loves peas, sweetcorn and blueberries as favourites.
Often when he comes out of his tubes he looks like a scruffy teenager with his long fur all fluffed up and in a severe bed head..

Monty told George in his last correspondence that his human Big Paw needs taming asap and i think he was right.

Get George out in a jug or something if he doesn't let you pick him up yet but don't let it turn into a power struggle. The hamster will win. They are even more stubborn than humans.

Dear Monty,

Big Paw has been at it again, calling me names, as you know I like my tunnels it is my favourite place to hide, that being so he has called me a " Tunnel Rat" aswell as "Fluff Butt" even worse he calls me " Georgie Porgy" and says it is from an old nursey rhyme, but I think it is derogatory , this being the case I am not playing ball with him and his endeavours to tame me, I will let him stroke me a little but if he tries to pick me up I jump and he can't catch me as I run so fast for my tunnels where I am safe and he can't catch me.
But then I find I have been transported to a strange place he calls a sofa so I stay put and only occasionally come out and then go a see his female who seems quite docile and doesn't scare me.
He does feed me very well though I love all the fresh things he gives me some more than others, he is surprised I do not like what he calls banana but I do like these blueberry things they are very very tasty indeed.
Must dash I think he is coming back

What a cute little hamster!!! And the expressive little face!

In the first photo he's all smiles and looks like he's expecting something nice and then it's a 'where is it?' kind of expression.
