Dear Monty,

I am appalled, my Hooman servant aka Big Paws has taken to calling me Fluff Butt, as he thinks I am a long haired Hamster he says that he finds it funny when the bedding sticks to my Butt Fur, do you have any suggestions as to my course of action....?

Got home from work this morning, George came out from his house as I disturbed him, I was a tad worried after I saw him as his right eye was closed and looked a little swollen, after a while of him wandering about and hiding in his tunnels , his eye opened up and looked perfectly normal..
I am going to change his substrate to a paper variety as the wood shavings are sticking to him as he appears to be a long haired little critter.

Addendum,
10kgs of Fitch ordered delivery due next week...

What a very handsome boy - he looks to be an umbrous Golden banded rads. We use fitch for LH males and it can tangle a little but not nearly as badly as the shavings. I'd get a little brush and comb and do him daily when you get him tamed as they can get very matted unless you keep on top of it.

Souffle,
Thanks for that, when I first saw him I thought his fur was a little longer than the others in the shop.
Taming is a very slow process as he is still very skitterish and jumpy, he loves his tunnels the latest being a core of an industrial roll of shrinkwrap which is very thick and a half meter long.

Came home from my night shift to find George upside down on the roof of his cage , trying I think to open the roof door...! he was chewing on the bars and pushing at the door with his nose, how could he know this is a way out as I don't even use that door..!!!!

George's Fitch bedding/substrate has arrived and his cage has been cleaned and refilled with Fitch, I,so have been giving his cage a little sort out too.
He is in his cardboard tube in a box while the cage is being sorted.
I'm also letting him roam a little on the sofa, but he is skitterish and I think is going to be a hard one to tame.
His Fluff is growing quite quickly and he is developing skirts/fringes as all our previous Hammies have been short haired I need to have him tames so he can be groomed properly..
The Pics are George in his long cardboard tube, which he loves.

Dear George,

thank you so much for clarifying the meaning of my name. Ha! Cabbage grower indeed.

A wealthy mountain means a hoard as big as a mountain. I am doing some research on humans, the different species, their habitats and habits, food and sleep patterns.

Wealth they measure by the size of their hoards. They often hide their hoards in something called a Bank but i don't know yet what that is. Have you started a hoard yet?
I keep adding to mine but the best seeds are always on Big Nose's paw which is very annoying. I have to climb on it and sometimes her paw stinks of flowers. Humans can be very inconsiderate. Why can't she simply put the seeds in my dining room. I even nipped her a couple of times but she is so stubborn. Stubborness is another human trait we have to put up with.
According to my research, it is possible to tame a human and i really have to look into this. Taming means to get them to do what you want them to do.

Your human servant Big Paw needs to be tamed urgently. His behaviour is not acceptable. How dare he call you Fluff Butt! I'm sure that he wouldn't like to be called that. My advice is not to respond to him at all when he calls you Fluff Butt. Turn round, show him your butt and walk into your favourite tunnel with your nose held high, i take it that you keep a hoard in there and don't come out again no matter what he says or what he tries to bribe you with. He must learn.

Your friend Monty
