A Hamster Called George

George is such a cute little fluffball. How old is he?
Is he multicoloured or what colour is he?

I'm really looking forward to see what kind of hamster he's going to grow into and what his personality is like.

Ria,
George was born on Xmas eve, so he is about 7weeks old.
He is Grey and white the Grey is almost a blue/grey he has ginger fur around his eyes.
I think he is going to be long haired.
He is a climber and will monkey bar along the roof of his cage.
He loves his tunnel I have installed for him and multiple ledges/platforms.
He seems to be sleeping in his nest now, which is good though he still sits in his food bowl.
I have given him some apple, cucumber and his current fave sugar snap pea kernels.

George had his first outing tonight, he was very skitterish and it did involve a little "Hamster Juggling" there fore he wasn't out for long just a few minutes.
When I went back into the dining room where his cage is he was stood next to the door with a paw on the door.....!
Grabbed a couple more shots to show his colouring. I swear since I saw him first last week he has doubled in size.....

My name is Monty. I was named after a cabbage grower.

This human called Big Nose had been watching gardening programmes and i have promised myself to never ever eat or even sniff at a cabbage.

Big Paws has said you shouldn't compare your self to a cabbage grower, he says the Monty means man of the wealthy mountain, so you have a wealthy mountain , what is a mountain and what is a wealthy?

Big Paws said you should be proud that a famous British General was called Monty who won many battles in the dessert , who would have a battle in a dessert? Unless it was a food fight....

Big Paws has been watching something called Rugby and he gets rather excited about it, he says it is the best game in the world, what is a game?

I was let out last night on what Big Paw and his mate called the sofa, it was scary and interesting, when I jumped off the sofa I made Big Paws jump and say some funny words which I don't think where very nice, I wriggled and squirmed and jumped and he said it something called hamster juggling, then he put me back in my cage, so I climbed up the corner and chewed the bars to annoy him.

I'm off to my tunnel now for a nibble and then some sleepy bo time.

Today,
George has had his first salad bowl, with lambs lettuce, a little shredded beetroot, some cup up sugar snap peas and a little sweet red pepper. judging on the near empty bowl I guess he approves.

George has taken to living in his tunnel, at first it was his bolt hole but he has taken bedding in there, a food stash etc, problem is the tunnel is plastic and there will be problems so will give it to the weekend and remove the tunnel for cleaning and hope George adopts the nest box as his home, I may put the tunnel back in at a later date.
