Default Old hamster with lump

My hamster is around 1 year and 10 months old and he has a lump on his skin (back). Is it still recommendable for him to undergo surgery? I’m worried that the anesthesia in itself will affect his health, because he is some what old. The tumor/lump doesn’t seem to effect him, he still runs in his wheel and goes about his daily activities. And also, incase he will undergo operation again, this will be i think his third/fourth time since the lump keeps coming back after two or three months of the surgery. The vet said its not malignant so its somehow a relief. Thank you in advance for your recommendation.
