With Rodney i came home from work and heard scratching under the big chair in the lounge. I looked underneath the chair and thought, i know these little white legs and called Rodney. He came to me and i put him back then checked his cage and realized that he had managed to push the closed top door enough to get out. I think he slept inside the chair.

It’s great to read they didn’t venture far, they must’ve known their homes were nearby. So lovely you were able to pick them up and simply pop them back home, you’ve such a great bond with them all.
Yes, I find that sometimes with Hams after a while he’s just happy to be back in the comfort and shelter of his home where he feels cosy and secure.

Re: Rodney
Rodney sat by his door for absolute ages tonight with me chatting and stroking him. I've never seen him sit still for that long before.
I put a treat in the sputnik when i set up the HH and now Rodney keeps looking for more.
They've all gone to bed now but one. Robo Scottie is zooming around in the upstairs hall playground.

Re: Rodney
Lovely photo - he looks really contented. I like the way you have the rat sputnik without the top on! I was always a bit worried they might get a leg caught in the gap for the tab from the top part if I did that, but it's quite a big gap and very unlikely!

Re: Rodney
I just watched Rodney nibbling on his piece of boiled egg and said "Hello Rodney".
Rodney glanced in my direction then pouched all his fresh and stomped off in his house chirping!
So sorry i spoke Rodney.

Re: Rodney
Last night i sat in Rodney's downstairs hall playground and listened to him crunching in a corner thinking it was a sunflower seed. It wasn't. He was enthusiastically chomping through the telephone cable. Gave ex-directory a whole new meaning.
