Re: Our Rory
I have finally located an Alaska and moved Rory into it from his Hamster Heaven. I don't think there's any difference floorspacewise but the extra height makes it more spacious.
He likes to be able to run a whole circuit around his cage, doesn't burrow but likes to go in and out of various hides.
He wasn't phased by the cage changeover, in fact, he slept through it. He has two identical houses because he's a messy hamster so one is always clean, ready to get exchanged for the dirty one.
This set up looks somewhat chaotic but i find it quite difficult to get a set up right. See what he does when he wakes up......probably goes in his coconut for a wash.

Re: Our Rory
It looks great . They do love the coconut huts don’t they - round things. I think the extra height of the Alaska is better for a Syrian - it allows you to add more enrichment.

Re: Our Rory
Rory went back to his old self and lazy ways but i'm glad because he's calm and happy again.
He gets up later now, around 22.30, enjoys free roaming and doing what he does best....posing.
He must have forgotten about Syrian girls and i won't remind him either.
