A little sighting of Mocha this evening.
It was a very hot day, so I was glad to catch him.
I also noticed he has a little bit of fur thinning behind his ears.
Looks all and well though as he is no longer a youngling.

Two days ago Mocha finally moved in with me again, I am so happy to hear his little tapping and messing about in the night. I built a low bench to facilitate.
He wasn't at all bothered about the move, only peeking his head out for a treat and hello.
I look forward to having lots more time with him.

Mocha is doing great.
He has definitely slowed down somewhat, taking his time to do things.
He has always been a very mellow and sweet natured hamster. He's very dear to me, being my first ever hamster and my experiences with him has really gotten me to fall in love with them. I am grateful to have him in my life.

Mocha looks like velvet. Looking at him, all i want to do is stroke his beautiful fur.

I so totally get you and know from experience how special first hamsters are. They are all special but our first hamster, Henry, got us totally hooked on these lovely little creatures.

And then when you've had one, the house doesn't seem the same without....

Still waiting for my two - hopefully the week after next - and planning the new layout this afternoon.

I definitely have that feeling already. I could see myself maybe doing some rescuing, fostering and rehoming one day like you do. It must be a rollercoaster of emotions but in the end super satisfying.

I certainly believe that!
I'm excited for the arrival and story of your little friends. (:

Mocha has not burrowed in a good while. I've checked over the bedding and he's promptly staying on the surface, only exploring the hides. So I dug around a little bit to squish in a birch tunnel to encourage him once again to build majestic underground systems. I do hope it works. Other than that he seems well happy, he's super routined, on the clock enjoying his nights. I caught him noming flax and it is no doubt the best footage I got of him so far. I am really happy with his setup, it definitely grew on me when I added a few bits.

He's just like a cuddly little teddybear.
Are you able to handle him and stroke him?

Those ears... (:
I am, yes. He's not overly keen, but allows me to pick him up and he walks over my palms pretty well. I don't make him do much of anything (although very tempted to try more). He looks snugglier than he is, haha.
