Re: Help, please???
Is he eating and drinking as usual? - And playing, sleeping, etc? My winter white vocalises quite a lot - a sort of chirping sound that is rather sweet; could that be what you are hearing from your ham? You know your hamster best, so if you're worried, do take him to the vet if only to put your mind at rest.

Re: Help, please???
Yes, he's still quite acrive and attentive but he doesn't eat and drink that much. And i think it's not like that chirping sound that they usually make. It's like something was clogging in his nosetrils and the breathing is not quite normal. Yes, I guess I should bring him to the vet. Its just that when i brought my another hammy to the vet she got worse and died, that's why am a bit worried now if taking to the vet would really cure him. huhuhu.

Re: Help, please???
Hello Babyirish by the sounds of it your Hamster may have a chest infection, a course of antibiotics such as Baytril and an anti inflammatory such as Metacam would help, Hammies react well to medication but you will need to see a vet for these meds and correct dosage.

Re: Help, please???
If the hamster is coughing, wheezing, or anything like that... It is possible that they have a respiratory infection.
I would take them to the vet, and they might be able to help you.
If it is a respiratory infection.... the bathing sand that you might use contains dust. This can be very dangerous. You might want to switch the bath sand you are using so it doesn't happen again!
