Here is Pickle in his Coconut. And exploring a carrier bag. Recently I have been doing feeding time later due to lighter nights and our own routine changes. Pickle makes me well aware that he is waiting for feeding time by making a racket! He sits in the Coconut and waits for the food - and makes a racket So I will start feeding earlier again. After feeding time he goes back to his coconut - I think since it's been a bit warmer it is his sort of "summer house". He then sits and waits for me to turn the lights out before he uses his wheel. He will only use his wheel in the dark!

He is a lovely big boy now - about 6 months old. He weighs 214g.

Summer house lol! I love to hear about the way he sits in there waiting for dinner to be served, that photo of him exploring the carrier bag is so funny & cute too, his colouring is really gorgeous in that one.

You may have noticed he throws poops out of his summer house as well . I think another reason he is in the coconut more is he thinks someone has vandalised his house roof - he has stuffed his house so full of paper that the roof has lifted up at a bit of an angle. I tried to push it down again (when he was out of the house!) but it is still not quite flat.

My ones do that too, they'll put so much paper into their houses that they sit completely skew and then they'll refuse to go in there again!

Lovely pics of Pickle in his summer house and exploring. He is a very good size indeed.
I just love the way he knows how to attract attention. Just as Maestro did.
Maestro also used to put too much bedding in his second room next door to the nest. I used to remove the roof when he was out and get out the excess bedding so the roof would fit again. After all it was his feeding area on top. The bedding removed was usually clean so it could go in the cage near his tunnel and be gathered up again if he wanted. And the process would begin again!

Thank you all. Yes I will have to do that - remove the top bit of bedding He is still sleeping in there but seems bothered that the roof isn't flat. The end with the food bowl on is ok (that's the granite bit).

Haha! Those photos are so cute and Pickle is a lovely looking boy. What was in the carrier bag?

Funny how Syrians love their coconuts. Does Pickle rummage around and tidy up noisily to let you know that he is waiting?

Thank you Ria There was nothing interesting in the carrier bag - just some of OH's paperwork he'd been doing on the sofa. Pickle soon climbed out again. No the noisy noise Pickle makes sounds more like one of those football rattles! Sounds like he is whacking sticks against the side of his coconut ha ha.

So I have been feeding the hamsters earlier - and sorted out Pickle's house roof. But Pickle still sits in his coconut and makes a racket at a certain time of night. So - he is telling me to "turn the xxxxing lights off!". I have been having some very late nights recently - too many chores and I get more done late at night at the moment after OH has gone to bed, because his work routine is very erratic at the moment so I get not much done during the day. Around midnight I think the racket starts! A clear message - it is time for you to turn the lights out so I can run in my wheel.
