Meet Ragna
This thread stems from the thread "Ragna's cage set up"
I keep peeking in to see if Ragna has woken up but nothing yet. I got him last night and was able to video him exploring his cage. I have made changes to the cage set up to enable more substrate and included pictures in the thread above.
So proud to introduce Ragna male Syrian. Have included his video below:

Re: Meet Ragna
That is one happy and lucky hamster!
He's lovely and so healthy looking and inquisitive.
Schwartzie, you've picked a good one.
Looking forward to hear and see more from Ragna.

Re: Meet Ragna
Thanks so much! I didn’t see him last night but when I woke up the whimzees on the birch log had moved. I then lifted the lid of his house because I honestly didn’t think he has gone in there and it was clean but there was a hole in the substrate below the tissue so carefully put the lid back on and left him. Really hope he comes out a little earlier. So excited to see him move around his cage etc. want to get a picture of him.

Oh what a gorgeous boy! Now wasn't that worth the wait Schwartzie!
He looks like a lovely chunky fella, I very much like a chunky ham.

I was having a good laugh remembering back to the threads where I was whining about the size of the cage and how a I was going to find space for a large cage. A lot has happened since then - lol! You have been amazing! Oh, question...I gave him 1.5 tbsp of the mazuri food and vitasmart. I am not sure about how to measure then pellets? Do I mix the two bags together into a jar then shake it so that the pellets are mixed then scoop 1.5tbsp? Is that the best way to do it? I was scratching my head...lol!
I didn’t see him last night but the whimzee moved and he has used the pot plant holders all along the bottom of the cage. I wish I could see him network of tunnels...so amazing!

Shannon...I cannot thank you enough for being so supportive! Got lots more to learn so just waiting for the three days to be up and hope that Ragna comes out when I’m awake before asking more questions.

Re: Meet Ragna
He is such a cute hammy butt.
Sure he'll become more brave and active when you're there soon.
Not sure on the amount of each food as from UK and don't know the nutritional about them.
But I do about a large tablespoon every other day or so, scatter feeding.
Fresh veggies most days or forage, for variety and different nutrients.
When there young need more protein to grow, fish, mealworm and chicken are good.

Re: Meet Ragna
I give my hammy some freeze-dried chicken cat treats every couple of days, but since you're feeding him mazuri you shouldn't need to do that! i would feed my boy that but since i live in canada it's hard to get it here for a good price.
he is absolutely adorable!!
