If you ever want to read up on the carry on i had with Henry and his toilet arrangements read my thread "hamster is peeing in his house" on page 6 under Behaviour in the forum.
I think you are doing well taking taming slow. You could transport him in his cup to the bath tub and sit in there with him or a play pen, just for a very short time but you'll know yourself when the time is right.

Hahahaha...I will go and find your thread. Im going to do that...take him to the bathtub and do some bonding time with him. I literally rolled my eyes when I looked inside and the toilet had been hidden. That wasn’t a small toilet either.

Re: Meet Ragna
It may be the heat that made him decide to nest in the toilet - if it is near the door (air) and sand will help cool. I would wait till the hot spell passes as he may move his nest to another part of the house then when it’s cooler. Also think you’re doing well with taming gradually

I didn’t think of that! The heat makes sense. It will start easing off slightly towards end of October. The toilet is opposite the entrance so will move it when it’s cooler. I’m handling him every other day but very slowly and only using the mug for now. I will put him in the bath tonight and place his massive log in there...lol and some coconut hides and entice him with the other half of his walnut. I gave him a treat two days ago.
Thanks again for the advice☺️☺️

Re: Meet Ragna
My Louise goes to sleep in her toilet sometimes too, and she does it belly up, with all four of her paws in the air. If I hadn't just seen her happily climbing into it and "collapsing" immediately, I'd have been worried. She just loves the feeling of her chilled sand (her toilet is also her sand bath - Chinchilla sand) against her back.
Sure enough, she came out bright eyed and happy soon after her nap.
I just don't like how she pouches food and brings them to her toilet to eat because I'm kinda concerned that she inadvertently ingests some of the sand along with her food if she eats in there.
I think it should be quite warm in Saudi Arabia now, it's certainly warm where I am and I keep trying to add new cooling-off toys to her cage.

Lol...the thought of a Ragna in his toilet also had me raising an eyebrow...lol
It’s very warm this side but we have our air cons on a constant temp throughout the year but the walls radiate more heat this time of the year which can make him s little more hotter than usual.
