I'd leave something tempting and new out for Ragna aside from his regular food. A tiny piece of cucumber or carrot or fruit or cheese. It may well be gone in the morning.
Hamsters love new things.
Thanks for the tip☺️ I’m a bit nervous to leave fresh food as I can’t spot clean...what do you suggest? I really want to entice him out. I literally have not seen him in days 😂😂😂

You have not seen him in days?!!
Is he alive and well?

Maybe he is under the bed.

Joking aside. Do you have evidence that he is eating and drinking, using his wheel etc?

If not then i'd go looking for him because i'd be concerned about his welfare but best wait for advice of more experienced people here.

I’m also a bit worried but he cleared up all his food I put out for him. I will lift his box lid tonight and hopefully he will come out. My husband says he has final exited the Kingdom...I told him to stop being daft...we haven’t paid for his exit/re-entry...hahaha. Jokes aside...will go now and see if he budges. I don’t want to bother him like everyone told me so been very patient. I’m itching to bond with him.

I just had look. He made a new tunnel last night. There is a clean hole in the Fitch above his log and he has kicked out more bedding from another potplant holder so he has added another tunnel. I will put more food out tomorrow. I should have called Ragna Wally and started a thread called “Where’s Wally?”

I can’t be frustrated at never seeing my hamster I guess...I should be proud right that I created a habitat where he is just burrowing like mad and doing hamster things

Don't tell me you've got one like my Henry who comes out late when he thinks that everyone has gone to bed.

Last night i took advantage of his poor eye sight and sat two chairs away watching him having a wash in the sand bath.

He sometimes climbs out of his house when i clean his toilet and that's when i have to "catch" him (he's fine with me picking him up) or he'll go and sit in his coconut.

Ragna is probably quite set in his ways and not familiar with humans. He can still bond with you in time. Henry is tame and has bonded in a Henry sort of way which could well be Ragna's way too. You'll find out.

I'd be inclined to start interacting with him now and see how he reacts then take it from there but again, that's just my opinion.

You need an endoscope to look down the tunnels or under the substrate to locate your subterranean hamster, lol.

At least you know that he's alive and well....but where do you go from here? I'm going to think....

I can’t even edit my profile picture...hahahahaha....hamster missing in action...hahaha...he is the small version of Bigfoot...hahahaha...ok, enough....will stop with the jokes. I really wanted to give back to this forum by learning all I could about taming and interacting with a hamster so I could help others as others have helped me but all I can say with confidence is that if you want your hamster to burrow buy Fitch....hahahahaha!

Sounds as though both of you might consider investing in a string of red lights to hang near but not touching Henry or Ragna's cage. I understand that hamsters cannot see in red light and have poor eyesight anyway. I got some in the supermarket at Christmas time a couple of years ago. The redlights are Rudolf 's noses! I will take a photo and then add it here.
