stye under eye help! Syrian hamster
Please help! I need advice for a stye my hamster has developed quickly. nothing in his cage has changed and I have took out the sand bath just in case it was that. it doesn't seem to be bothering him but I don't want it to get worse. can someone tell me what to do or how to help him?
I have attached a link to an image of him, his fur is wet because I tried to gently wipe his eye with water.

Re: stye under eye help! Syrian hamster
The link is not showing.
It would be best to see a vet with him especially as it has developed so quickly. He may need antibiotics and the abscess drained. Sometimes it helps to bathe it with some saline made with a pint of boiled water plus a teaspoon of salt and use this cooled down. Use a cotton ball. If it opens and drains then encourage the pus to come out and keep it open to drain all infection. These can be painful so take care and get him seen if it does seem bad or painful as you don't want to risk his eye. I hope it gets better soon.
