Help, please? Is my hamster having a stroke???
Hi everyone. I have a 1 year and 4 months old syrian hamster. When i was about to feed her i suddenly saw her walking strangely. Like she's wobbly and her head is tilted to one side and sometimes in circular. It's my first time to encounter this, i don't know what to do. A few minutes after, i saw her eating. Then after a few minutes i checked her again, she's sleeping but when she noticed me she started walking again, wobbly and head tilted again but she seems okay and very conscious. What could it be? Is is a stroke? What should i do??? :
Thank you.

Re: Help, please? Is my hamster having a stroke???
It's possible she has had a stroke if it happened suddenly, other things can cause similar symptoms like ear infections or other problems but I would expect that to develop more slowly, the best thing is to speak to your vet.

Re: Help, please? Is my hamster having a stroke???
I took her to the vet yesterday and good to know she has no tumor nor ear infections but he gave her an antibiotic tho. She's now doing fine, she has improvement especially when walking. Her head doesnt tilt that much anymore. Gave her some fresh vegetables (brocolli and carrots) and chicken yesterday. Hoping for a full recovery soon.
Thank you for the advice.

Re: Help, please? Is my hamster having a stroke???
Glad to hear she's doing better now, sometimes they can have a stroke but recover well & continue to live a good life, sounds like this may be the case.
