Maisie's thread!

Hey everyone!

So my Alaska cage arrived the other day.. super impressed with the delivery time! So I began to ring around the local adoption services for small animals and no one had any hamsters in my area, but since I’m so impatient and didn’t want to wait, I headed to P@H. Which is unfortunately the closest place to me that you can get hamsters from..

So whilst I was looking at the hammy's I instantly fell in love with this gorgeous little girl. She just seemed so friendly in the shop and let the man pick her up with ease, whilst the others were a little bit nippy.

So here is little Maisie! I believe she is around 8-10 weeks.



She is very chilled out and laid back, she lets me put my hands in her cage and stroke her with no fuss.
Haven’t quite worked up to picking her up yet as its only been a few days (and I’m a little bit nervous as I haven’t had a hamster in 6 years ) but I think she is settling in really well! I’m waiting on a few more bits to arrive for her cage then I’ll post pictures, but it was so cute watching her explore it all, she hasn’t quite worked out how to use the little ramp (which I think I’ll be taking out) to get onto the platform yet though!

I can't wait to use this thread to post pictures of her, I hope you all like her

Look at that little face! She's a pretty girl. I thought she was all one colour at first, but now that I look closet I think I can see both white and very light cream there. I'm glad she is enjoying the Alaska - my baby Mushu has one too. Have you tried putting a treat or piece of food on the platform? I have never actually seen Mushu climb up the ramp onto the platform, but whenever I put treats up there they disappear overnight.

I know! AprilPearl, it's her little face that I couldn't resist. No, she is cream and white like you said! Although the cream colour is so light it kind of blends in with the white haha ooh no I haven't tried that yet, I'll give that a go tonight!

Thank you BorisPasha I'm really excited and happy to have her, I can't wait to give her the best life I possibly can! I'll try and get a few good pics to share tomorrow!

Cypher thanks so much! I'm excited to see more of her personality come out, so far she is a very gentle little thing, no overly confident but I'm sure that will come with time!

Aww thanks chi0, so far so good! She is still getting used to her surroundings but I can tell she is really enjoying her nice big cage I'm positive I'll enjoy our time together!

AWWW she looks so cute and tiny. I agree with the others, her coat is gorgeous!!

I'm glad she's settling well, she must be thrilled with her new Alaska.
