Unhappy A little help?

So my hamster was sleeping in her food corner and I saw her and poked her so she would go back to her hut. She didn't move. I blew on her because she hates it when I do that. Still didn't move. I picked her up and she still didn't move. I shook her and she still didn't move. Then I put her back in her cage and put a piece of paper on top of this trash can I have in my room. I only put paper in that trash so please don't get any ideas. I put her in and laid a piece of paper on top of her. I heard a rustling sound and almost had a heart attack. Wasabi was alive! When I tried to pick her up she tried to bite me so eventually I got her back in her cage. That was good but then I noticed that her right eye would only open half way and it would close every 3 seconds but her left eye would open all the way and was doing what it normally does. Also at the top of her ears there's this white flaky stuff that she can't get off which makes her hearing not as sharp as it used to be. Her right eye opens all the way at night but in the morning when I check on her she has a reddish-pinkish ring under her right eye. And when she eats she faces the wall and curls up into a ball. When she starts walking to her house she hunches over and rolls the rest of the way when I touch her. I want to take her to the vet but can't afford it. What do I do?

She needs to see a vet asap. Can you ask someone to lend it to you?
When you get a pet, you take on responsibilities as the owner. A lot of people think having a hamster means they won't have vet bills, but when they're ill, they can't tell you, they rely on you.

I went to the vet borrowing money from my friend and the vet lady said my hamster cut her eye and should not be around bright lights for 1 month but I used to give her this emoji night light that she got attached to. I told this to the vet lady and the she gave me this other light to use that would allow Wasabi to see without hurting her right eye but it lets off a green glow which makes Wasabi think she's green so she tries to scratch off the green and her ears peel and then her ears start peeling and she bit me 3x's when I put her ear drops on to stop the bleeding and I took away the light but when I woke up she was running into the wall. The vet said she didn't know what to tell me so I put Wasabi's emoji night light that she had gotten attached to back but farther away from her cage and she was OK. Is what I did wrong? Just wondering because Wasabi acted normal after that but I don't want to hurt her.

Do you know how she cut her eye? Just in case she could possibly be cut by it again.
I'm just guessing, but I'm not really satisfied with that explanation, since I don't think it could explain how she was acting like she was dead/not moving

When I laid her in the paper wastebasket (sounds much better than trash can) She got under the paper I laid and pushed a piece off bedding into her lower eyelid which was on her forehead. I pulled it out when I saw it but the vet lady said that it probably happened when She was in the paper wastebasket.

If she is unwell then she should be kept strictly in her cage now chocomint. Don't let her out for playtime or anything at all except her medications and be sure to keep everything quiet and peaceful so she can rest as much as possible and sleep well so she heals up. I would just leave her without the lights on in a normal daily cycle of nights and days.
I hope she gets better soon.

I'm glad you borrowed the money for the vet, no pet should suffer. I put money aside each month just in case of an emergency.
I agree with Souffle about the lights on in a normal day & nights. Let her recover but keep a close eye on her. Did you tell the vet about her looking dead, not moving?

I did but the vet said she was just burying food. I don't believe that though. Wasabi tries to scratch me wen I touch her when she's burying her food.

I am really sorry about Wasabi and I hope she gets well soon. Possibly, the fact that she had cut her eye damaged her vision which confused her and made her freeze up like that because she could hear but not see you? Whatever it was, keep a close eye on her and if it happens again take her back to the vet. I’d also turn off the emoji light for now. It is in her best interests just while she recovers.
