It's good you guys don't have tornadoes, they're definitely pretty scary. It was quite a pain to have to carry all the tanks and bins back upstairs after the threat had passed. You should definitely try some popcorn with Mushu, I've heard hamsters adore it

BorisPasha
Duncan says thank you for the complements on his hat! I'm glad too that the bad weather didn't hit us. Now it's 90° F and sunny- our weather can never decide on what it wants lol

Dreamtree
Sorry to hear you've been hit with the bad weather as well! Please, stay safe and keep your animals safe too. Hope you guys are all doing okay
Duncan is very pleased about how many people love his hat

On that note, Id like to share a little creation of mine

It's a digitalized version of this photo! Duncan approves of it, which is quite a rare thing. It took me a few hours to complete as blending the colors and shading was quite difficult, but I'm pleased with how it turned out

So glad you are all doing well. We are all safe and sound here, too. It is also extremely hot right now, and we are expecting sunshine.

I love your digitalized photo of Duncan with his famous hat. It looks wonderful which is no great surprise since you have such a handsome hammy as the focus of your masterpiece. It certainly is worthy of framing on your wall. It will be like your very own portrait of the Duncan Lisa (hammy version of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa).

Oh my gosh that is actually brilliant! You are so talented! Wish I could do somwthing like that for Mushu, but sadly I do not have the necessary skills. When I was young, I painted a tiny (and pretty poor) portrait of my first hamster in watercolours and hung it in his cage. I guess I was remarkably lucky that he didn’t ever try eating it! I still have it.

Thank you, but this really didn't take any skill lol. All I really did was paint over the original photo using a special program- just about anyone with copious amounts of patience and a steady hand could do it. That's lovely you still have the picture of your first hamster, that's very good he didn't try eating it! I plan to do another one of these edits/digitalizations for Kopi

I love that pic you made of Duncan and his hat, it's brilliant! It's amazing what can be done with technology. It would most likely take me hours to figure out what to do then days to actually finish it and knowing me I still wouldn't be happy with it lol.

Your weather sounds a little like ours (as I'm sure your Grandparents will be able to tell you!). Definitely not as extreme as yours but sometimes it feels like we can have all four seasons in one day

I beg to differ. I think such a steady hand is a talent in itself! Either way, the end result is awesome.

So glad you weren't hit with the bad weather.
Blooming gorgeous pics of Duncan. He's so cheeky with the ritz cracker.

Well thank you! Your hanging of the watercolors in the cage gave me an idea, perhaps I should print this out and hang it above Duncan's cage

Dreamtree
So glad to hear you're all safe. The temps here are way too high for me, I'm staying indoors today! I bet Duncan would appreciate having the Duncan Lisa above his cage. I think I will print it out. I might as well do something with it after spending so much time on it!

BorisPasha
Thank you! I got the drawing done quicker than I thought I would. It only took 4.5 hours in total (but I started it at 10 pm so I was up quite late that night finishing it).
When I was young, my grandmother would tell me stories of their old house in Scotland. I wish I had listened more. I plan to visit Scotland one day, just to embrace my heritage

Cypher
Thank you, I think it was worth it as well. I'm excited to do one for Kopi

Thin Lizzy
I too am so glad the weather missed us. Unfortunately, it's just a matter of weeks before we get another set of storms and possibly a tornado. He loved the bit of cracker I let him eat, naughty ham!

Cage updates
Well this project has taken a sudden turn. I've scrapped the entire square metre cage I began working on as I've found a large piece of furniture for only $60 which I can turn into a cage. I chose this instead as it will be two square metres and will be able to hold 15 inches of bedding (though I plan to modify it to hold more). It's shipping here now and I should hopefully have this all done and ready within the next two weeks

I think hanging it above the cage would be much less risky for both Duncan and picture, than hanging it in the cage as I did haha.

Wow sounds as though that cage is going to be awesome. Can't wait to see it when you are done!
