Oh my goodness! I can swear by the wodent wheels. They are amazing! Especially the 11' (Senior) Wodent Wheels.

They are quite easy to clean. We use the blunt end of the scissors to take out the bin and then spray it with a vinegar solution, rinse, and towel dry. Then all we have to do is reassemble the wheel by clicking it together and pushing the pin back in with the blunt end of the same scissors.

I have had other wheels in the past, but by far this one is my/and syrians favorite.

I've made one using the ErinsAnimals way. It's difficult, since the wheel ends up being super hard to move since it's leaning down and scraping against the wood. Unless you have a really long bolt that can hold a ton of nuts, your hamster won't go on it (at least that's my experience).

I think this is the cheapest place to get the 11" wodent wheel - $17.49 Although maybe there is postage on top?

For wodent wheels in the proper size(I got mine on Amazon.), was $17.49 with $12.54 shipping. I know this seems like a lot of money for a wheel but in the long run you want the best for your hammie. It is an 11 inch wheel which is perfect for grown Syrians. Besides you want a wheel that will last your hammie's lifetime. If you got something that is not as sturdy or too small, you will have to replace it anyway.

If you want something that absolutely will not be grown out of,an 11 inch wheel isn't quite big enough actually A 12 inch wheel would be the only size that cannot be grown out of,and of the 12 inch wheels available the Silent Runner is best. It'll cost more than an 11 inch Wodent Wheel but it is a superior wheel to any other on the market,in safety and in quality. You probably won't spend that much on shipping for a Silent Runner either!
