Love hearing all about Eros' adventures. Though I suppose the biggest adventure so far is finding out he is in fact a she! Either way she is still amazingly cute and photogenic

Hamsterita, I sure am relieved as well that she wasn't pregnant, too! I know that it was definitely for the best. I realize how difficult it is to raise a newborn litter, and I believe it is best left to those most experienced hamster breeders in order to increase the chance of survival for both hamster mum and babies. Thankfully, the mistaken gender didn't have any potentially dangerous results. As for me, I don't have any preference as far as gender goes. The "all males" store just happened to be the only one in my vicinity.

I also appreciate you sharing some interesting facts about the Spanish holiday "los santos inocentes" on December 28. I love learning new things about different countries, their culture, and of course their special holidays, etc.! I do get into all of the special holidays, so I can truly appreciate knowing about this one. Thanks for sharing! Have fun on the 28th of December. Hee-HEE!!!

Thin Lizzy, I think it is about time to have the very 1st female bond. Don't you agree? Eros surely is practicing her skills, and may just be up for the part!

BorisPasha, I am so glad that you are enjoying Eros's adventures as I do enjoy sharing them with all of you. Yes, discovering her true gender is definitely one of the biggest adventures/surprises for me. I felt like a mum announcing the gender of her baby through one of those gender parties. I suppose that I should have baked a strawberry flavored cake for the big reveal, huh? I am just thankful that I know it so I can refer to her properly. Now I know I have two girls so you could say the girl power is definitely strong in my house!

Just catching with the recent posts. I absolutely love the photos so Eros is her cardboard box and with her whimzee alligator she looks so sweet. That must have been a shock to realised that Eros is a girl and not a boy - I too am glad that she wasn't pregnant!

Today, I just celebrated my very special 2-months adoption day with my two-legged mum. She treated me to an upgrade the size of my bin home and also introduced me to my very first taste of these creepy crawly meal worms (well, to be honest, they were actually freeze dried but just as creepy). I don't know how much of a treat they were because I just sniffed at them, and then turned away with total disgust. Mum kept telling me to just give them a chance and I will love them, but I didn't see her jumping up for joy trying them either. She tried to hand feed them to me but eventually placed them in my food bowl. Needless to say, they are still sitting there just where she set them. I suppose that if she is lucky, tomorrow I MIGHT just try them, but it may be Mum's wishful thinking. Do you all love meal worms, or is it just an acquired taste that you may never fully appreciate? After a while, Mum decided to let me have outside of my bin home exploration time where she had a cupcake filled with some of my favorite treats inside. She sang me a Happy Adoption Day song, and told me how much she loves me. I have a few pics to share showing me enjoying this and meeting my Eros double (?). I wasn't sure about her at first, but she definitely grew on me. She even was pretty good at copying my ever move.
