Re: Introducing Eros
Dreamtree - Wow, it has been approximately a month since I last posted; I'm sorry that I haven't kept up with Eros's thread lately. I haven't had a chance to get onto HC much due to family visiting. I and all of my pets had a wonderful time spending a few weeks with family, though. With eight kids and four adults playing with both Eros and Snickers, I don't know who was more excited, the two-leggeds or the furries. I think it will be a tie since they all were as happy as can be. I always treasure this time with family so thoroughly and wish it never had to end, but we all have such busy lives so sometimes there is a several months gap where we don't get to be together as often as we would like. Maybe next time my entire family could be here as well. We all had a wonderful 4th of July celebrating together, and I hope that you all have had a terrific July thus far. I have begun catching up on your hammies threads, and I am enjoying them as always. I am, however, heartbroken that beloved Pip had gone to the Rainbow Bridge, and I still cry just thinking about it. Hugs to Rads, Mrs, R, and all of us on HC who got to know this precious hammy through Pip's wonderful and entertaining thread. Rest in peace, sweet and gorgeous Pip; you will never be forgotten.
Thanks for your posts, Emma and Burakki. Burakki, I think that one day I might just muster up the courage to try to eat a cricket if I can just remain calm enough to do so, but it will most definitely need to be deep fried and covered with tons and TONS of scrumptious chocolate, lol! I can handle a living one (isn't that crazy?) since I used to feed live crickets to my ciclid fish, and they absolutely adored them.
*****
Psst! Are you there? It's Eros again! I sure hope that you haven't forgotten me already. Sorry for not doing my latest updates, but I have been actively playing with a houseful of loving, two-legged family of my Mum. Wow, it sure was tons of fun and lots of noise, too! I love, love, LOVED it!!!! Where did they all go, I wonder? I hope that they will be back soon since they are so much fun.
Well, where to begin is the question? I suppose that I should start off by saying that I celebrated my very first Fourth of July ever. It was lots of fun, and I enjoyed listening to all of the fireworks going off from the distance. I wish I could have been out there seeing them all sparkling with brilliant colors in the dark sky, but Mum didn't think it would be wise. Boohoo, I don't understand why all the two-leggeds have the experience of actually seeing them and us furries have to just listen to them because we are 'scared'. As if I could ever be scared of anything, right? You know me, I am utterly fearless!
Well, while Mum was away doing what two-legged do during the 4th, I was practicing up on my skill of running like Speedy Gonzales, "Ariba! A-R-I-B-A!", on the outside of my Wheel of Speed. I also practiced jumping in and out of the Wheel of Speed's different holes as it was in full rotation. I even practiced jumping on my hind legs on top of the Wheel of Speed trying to see if I could do a great escape from my bin cage. However, Mum unfortunately entered the room just in the nick of time to catch me in my act. Needless to say, she did a few adjustments to my cage setup. Why oh why can some of my hammy friends be a great Houdini and I can't escape, too? I wish that I could tell Mum that I'm a Bond agent, but that would just destroy my secret identity. Oh well, maybe next time I'll get out before being caught.
Here I am getting a full speed run on the outside of the Wheel of Speed. I don't know about the rest of my furry hammy friends, but I think running on the inside just isn't always as challenging and fulfilling as running on the outside, too. Don't you agree?
In and out, one to the other, I go. . . wait a minute, Mum's blacky thingy shouldn't be able to catch me doing this because I'm moving just to fast. I suppose that it isn't too bad since it didn't catch me doing all my stunts here. Better luck next time, C-A-M-E-R-A! Luckily for me, Mum doesn't have red light for night vision, a video camera, or a spy video camera. Whahahaha!!!!!!
Aren't I just gorgeous? Mum absolutely loves my spiraling strands of extra long hair behind my ears. She thinks they are quite cute and add to my charm. I love how it naturally is highlighted by the lighter tones of white and gold.
Ready, one-two-three-J-U-M-P! Mom, not again?!? I can do it, really I can!

Re: Introducing Eros
Sound like you had lots of fun. You are the wheel master, running on the outside as well as the inside.

Re: Introducing Eros
Eros, I could never forgot about you, you're cheeky gorgeous self brings me lots of joy and laughter.
When I seen how busy your mum has been, I realised that you would be a busy ham too.
Your mum is very clever at making sure your home is escape proof, not because she doesn't want you having fun but, because she loves you so much.
I so love that last pic, you're expression is full of cheekiness, attitude and innocence.

Re: Introducing Eros
Thanks for your lovely comment, CMB. I will gladly accept another title as the 'Wheel Master'. I love it, and I am so very, VERY pleased. Please tell my lovely friend Willow that she should try it as well. I'm sure it will bring much happiness and enrichment to her, also. Us hammies have to stick together and help add the extra spice and excitement into each other's lives, you know?

Re: Introducing Eros
Oh, Thin Lizzy thanks for all of your sweet comments and for never forgetting about me while I was playing with a house full of family. Master Harvey is totally unforgettable, too, and Mum and I absolutely adore him. I know Mum is always thinking of my well-being, but sometimes I just wish that I could explore more and MORE!!! I know she is always keeping things interesting for me yet protecting me from all of the potential dangers. I certainly am glad that she is my Mum, and I love her so much.
Wow, I just realized that my stringy thingy has now been upgraded to 'Hamster Overlord'; I guess I have to celebrate. I promise that the celebration won't include too much naughtiness though - Oh, who am I kidding, a teensy, weensy bit of naughtiness couldn't hurt, right? Whahahaha!!!!

Re: Introducing Eros
I believe that I might have mentioned this in a previous post that I was having a hamster Woodland Hideout custom made by Twilight Chinchillas for Eros a while back. It was designed with a Disney's Pixie Hollow's theme in mind, and it arrived this month just in time to celebrate Ero's 5th month Gotha Adoption Day on the 9th of July. I couldn't have been any more pleased with the outcome of this purchase. The artist and owner of Twilight Chinchillas created such an artistic masterpiece with six hammy hop-ups which Eros thoroughly enjoys. She does one-of-a-kind houses, toys, etc., and if you can dream it, she can do it. It also came well-protected so it was in perfect shape when it arrived. She also makes furniture, etc. for chinchillas, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, lizards, mice, etc. Here is a link to her amazing website in case any of you are interest in checking it out.

These are a few pics of Eros's new hideout.
This shows Eros seeing it for the very first time. She absolutely loves it is an understatement.

Re: Introducing Eros
Pssht, Eros, Martina over here. I stole one of my hooman's rectangulars to check for updates on you. I've been told that you haven't posted any updates for some time, but I was convinced that it was total rubbish, and that the hoomans just don't want to share your adventures with me. Apparently, they weren't lying, I shall grant them my forgiveness.
Aren't wheels fun!? I love jumping in and out of the holes too! Have you ever tried just standing in front of it and spinning with your arms? I love doing it! My hoomans try to explain that it's not the way to use the wheel, as if I'm stupid. Sometimes I just need my arms to work and my legs to rest. You should try it too!
I am very happy that you had fun with your two leggers, it's awful that they didn't let you see the loud sparkles. You should demand they at least show you a recording.
I'm in love with your beautiful new home! I shall demand my servants to get me a similar one! They sometimes use excuses about something being too expensive to ship, but I don't understand what big boats have to do with it.
Anyway, it's been great to hear from you. I hope to see more of you in the nearest future.
Your friend Martina.

Re: Introducing Eros
We could never forget you or your lovely Mum Eros so you need never worry about that.
Sounds like you've been having a great time with your 2 legged-family dreamtree and I'm sure Snickers and Eros would have enjoyed all the extra attention. Eros is looking so very cute on her wheel and her new hideout looks so fantastic I hope Eros has lots of fun with it, if not I shall move in myself
