Default Cotton on!

So I've recently adopted my first hamster in many, many years. He's a dove grey Syrian hamster, and I got him just about a month ago. He's currently 2 months old.

He was described as "timid" by the person I adopted him from - but boy, after he warmed up, he's uncontrollable! He's a very curious hamster, loves to explore new places and new scents, and quite the escape artist!

He sounds like a lovely little guy! Looking forward to meeting him soon, I'd offer advice on how to post pictures but I still struggle with it myself!

Hi and welcome to HC! I'm sure he's gorgeous.

There are several ways to post pictures.

1. You can just attach them onto the post. To do so you need to click on "go advanced" and then click on the clip. In the new window you have to choose the photos that you want to upload browsing them from your computer or writing the direct link. If you want to upload them you have to make sure that their size is lower than 94 kb. If the file is bigger you can resized them on the internet in pages like this one Free Online Picture Resizer - Crop and Resize photos, images, or pictures online for FREE!. This way they'll appear at the end of the post as an attachment.

2. You can attach them as stated above and then put them onto the post. To do so you need to follow the instructions said above, and then when you're writing your post, click on the clip again and select the attachment that you wish to show. This way the picture will appear onto the post.

3. You can link them directly from the internet. To do so you need to host the picture somewhere (photobucket, flickr, imgur...), you copy the direct link to the image, and then you click on the mountain and sun icon and paste the link. This way the picture will appear onto the post.

I don't know if there are other ways.

I hope you understand me, as for me it's hard to give instructions in a foreign language. If you don't understand me maybe anyone can explain it better to you.

Hi and welcome! He sounds lovely! I believe you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can post pictures, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

Maybe to attach them you need to have them, but just to show them with a direct link (the third option) I think that you don't need to, as my first post had two pictures and If my memory isn't playing with me, I think that I linked them.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that my first post had photos (because I joined the forum to ask about suspicious stains on my hamster nesting material and I was showing the stains) so at least one of the ways have to work for new users too.

I hosted my image on Photobucket and tried doing exactly that, but it didn't work. It showed me that my post was denied, and the post only went through when I deleted the image link from it.

Edit: It worked somehow! I managed to link the photos in my original post. Thank you all for your help!!

He looks a proper mischievous little fellow, and with a face like that will get away with anything you could never get mad with him....
I use Facebook to host images of Pippin aka Pip, then just simply right click-copy on the image in the Facebook albumof Pip's ,and then open the insert image tab on here on the reply box on HC and right click-paste, making sure if you have "http//https// to delete the http// and you will be sorted.
Pip says Hi to you and Cotton and waves a paw
