I have just been catching up with Blacky's thread.
I'm so glad to hear that Blacky is fully recovered and it sounds and looks like he feels a lot better. Its lovely that Blacky has forgiven and thanked you for making him better - I'm sure he knows his mum made him feel better!

Loved all the videos - Its was so lovely watching Blacky tunnelling - it was so cute seeing him emerging from his burrow in his house. And he also looked very sweet enjoying his broccoli.
Blacky's cage looks really good and looks like he was enjoying himself in the 4th video. He also looked very sweet taking the treat from you.

They do know how they like their cage - its funny watching Blacky tidying up his stones!

Dear Blacky,
Thank you so much for being part of The Electric Hammy Orchestra, your spinning wheel of food was a glorious sight to see. You Quigley & Tinwe worked together brilliantly with your wheels and kept the beat.
I hope you're getting plenty of rest what with the express jet journeys and many late nights, it can be exhausting. I also want to say how much I admire you, having been on medication you still found time to practice, talk on the hamnet and do the show. You are Super-Ham.
I'm so glad we got to meet each other and be part of the Orchestra, I also loved listening to you speak spanish-ham although I did struggle sometimes but, I promise to keep practicing so that we can have a spanish-hamchat on face time.

Psst! It's me, Eros! Blacky, my mum and I loved the latest video of you gently moving the stones to the 'right' place after it was messed up by your mum. Don't worry, Blacky, my mum doesn't understand that things are placed there for a very specific reason and should never be tampered with unless given expressed permission. I place my toys and rocks in one place, and before I know it everything is a total mess once again. Mum's believe that they know best, but they aren't mindreaders I suppose, lol. Btw, Mum giggled when she read BP's post about you looking like "a very handsome chocolate truffle"; she just couldn't stop giggling. Whatever chocolate truffles are, I want to be one, too, but mum doesn't think my coloring will be accurate for that. She says chocolate truffles are one of the sweetest and most glorious treats in the world so it's a true compliment to be a handsome chocolate truffle, Blacky. You are sure a sweet ham and we all love you so dearly. Whisker kisses from me, Eros!

Hello.

It's being a while since the last time that I've joined the forum. I've seen a lot of new nicknames and others from good old pals.

Sadly today I am joining to share with you a terrible new. Blacky passed away this Tuesday. I know I neglected this post but life happens and I didn't (and don't) have the time to update it. However, we had really good friends here and I wanted to make everyone know what happened.

Some of you already know it as I posted it on his insta account, but for those who don't know a month and a half ago, all of a sudden, he suffered a stroke, and I thought he wasn't going to make it, but he survived and he recovered really well. You could see the signs of old age but he continued to enjoy the little pleasures of hamster life. On tuestay morning he looked specially tired, and finally he left us to take his eternal sleep. He was such a good boy and he became so brave. I am really proud of him and I will be forever grateful for the time we spent together.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. He had a long and very happy life with you Hamsterita and I loved hearing about him. He was such a character.

Oh no! I am in total shock and my eyes are welling up with tears right now. I was so thrilled to see that you have posted again as Eros and I have missed you both so very much and wondered how you were doing, but I am now terribly heartbroken to hear the awfully sad news about the passing of such a beloved and charming hamster. Blacky was certainly a very special and unforgettable hamster at HC, and I was so glad that I had the opportunity through his wonderful thread to get to know him and the sweet bond that the two of you shared. He always brought a smile to my face and touched my heart with his charismatic personality. He had a long life filled with all the love and care from you that any hamster would dream of having. He was a handsome, gentle ham who will forever live on in all the lovely memories that you created together. The rainbow bridge will be a much brighter place with the addition of your little darling, and he will be your fur angel watching and loving you from above. You are in my thoughts and my heart goes out to you. Please know that we are all here for you, Hamsterita. I am sending you huge hugs, and Eros is sending tons of whisker kisses your way, too.

Blacky, you truly touched me and I will always remember you fondly. May you find plenty of grand adventures and be reunited with all of those special furry friends that have gone to the bridge before you. Please send an extra, EXTRA special lovely rainbow to your loving mum who loves and misses you dearly.

I've already told you how sorry I am that your beautiful boy has gone to the bridge but I just wanted to add something here too.
Blacky was such a lovely boy & it was a joy to share his life through your photos & stories about him, such a brave little man, the bond between you was so wonderful to see & I'm sure he had the happiest life he could have wished for, he was so loved & I know he will be sadly missed.
