Julie sorry for the late answer, but I had never weighed him until this morning. I never did it because I really don't know how to know if his weight is correct or not. He is 204 grams, so he's quite bigger than Romeo.

I think that I'm going to weigh him every week now, to know If he's gaining some weight or not. To me he looks fine, not fat, a healthy hamster, but I don't know. Everybody around me say that he's a fatty ball of fur, but to me they aren't a reliable source, because they also say that he looks like a rat (I suppose that they are more acquainted with dwarfs).

Here you can see him again in the bed, and maybe you can see how big he is better.

IF SOMEONE KNOWS if he looks fit or not It would be much appreciated to know your opinion.

I've been wanting to upload the post for quite a long time. He's been with me for more than two months and I only wrote about his first week, but I've been super busy. I hope to have time to do it soon. He's doing fine and I think that he loves his new tank.

In the meanwhile, here are some photos that I've been taking this days.

200 grams is perfectly healthy I know that that is the size of both pip and sweep
I hope Romeo gets that big, but he is 5 months now and only 125 grams

Keeping am eye on his weight is a good idea, but once a month might enough
How do you weigh him? I put Romeo in a cup.

He's such an adorable little boy Love the little dare devil peering over the edge of the bed lol!

He is a good weight, I was surprised he's over 200g as he doesn't look that big at all to me.
It is a good idea to keep a check on their weight, I generally do weekly, sometimes an unexpected weight loss can be the first sign that something might be wrong so it's good to know what's normal for your ham as well as monitoring growth & gain when they're young.
There is no ideal weight though so you need to go by feel & look as much as grams, you get a sense of what feels right over time.

JULIE:
I put him in his carrier and I weigh the carrier with him inside it. Then I weigh the carrier alone. I subtract the second weight to the first one, and that's how I know his weight. I'm trying to get him used to his carrier.

Blacky is a pet shop hamster, so maybe that's too much. And I think that he's also fully grown, If the information that the clerks at the pet shop gave to me is correct, he should be 5 or 6 months old. I've read that breeder hamsters are heavier than pet shop hamsters. So maybe Romeo is ok. But I don't know for sure.

CYPHER:
Thank you!! I'm really in love with him. He always roams around a little bit, but when he's been there for awhile, he always want to explore more and he's not afraid of the edge of the bed. I always have to be very careful with him, he thinks he's spiderham hahaha

Sweep was from a pet store and is around 200g I think. He hasn't been weighed in a while but once he has finally moved and is settled I shall ask her to weigh him

We actually don't really know where Romeo is from so we can only guess on his genetics. I hope he has a growth spurt all of a sudden, but in the end it doesn't really matter. He is who he is.

CYPHER, PINKNEON, now I'm more relaxed, knowing that his weight is apparently all right. Thanks!

JULIE, Yep, what's really important is that he's fine. Keep an eye on him, and look at the bright side, maybe this way you can treat him with extra sunflower seeds

Pip is a pet shop Hamster and she weighs 205grams the only time she ever looks fat is when she is sat up on her haunches, the Hamster Buddha pose I call it but it does look cute though

Blacky looks well and healthy, he doesn't look his weight. Twinkle was 250g and she never looked her weight either.
